What a Whopper!!!!

In the war of “my TV is bigger than yours” Sharp has been winning in the LED/LCD TV category. Producing screens of 80 and 90-inch , but now a favourite of Future Lifestyle, Samsung is making a stand with its new 75-inch ES9000 series TV (UN75ES9000), which was unveiled in New York recently.

The new Samsung UN75ES9000 has the thin bezel-less design that we like and incorporates LED Edge-Lighting, along with Micro-Dimming, 2D and 3D compatibility (four pairs of glasses included), and extensive Smart TV features (both internet streaming and DLNAcontent access), supported by a built-in dual core processor.

In addition the ES9000 also has a built-inSkype-compatible camera for video phone calling, as well as support for gesture and face recognition control (mmmm not so sold on as yet) and voice recognition.
Another innovative feature of the new screen is Sound Share which provides Wireless Bluetooth streaming from compatible portable devices.

In the States the 75-inch UN75ES9000 is priced at $9,999, and is expected to be available in August (US).

But the festure that really caught our eye is the new gesture-enabled Angry Birds App, taking the most adictvie game to a whole new level... worth 10K just so you can play a game... maybe..

Welcome to the kitchen of the future

If you are of a certain age like some of the (older) members of the Future Lifestyle team you´ll remember the Jetsons. The futuristic family living in Orbit City, a floating apartment, with jet cars and robot housemaids.

Well we´re not quite there yet, but slowly parts of the Jetsons life are creeping into our everyday life. 

Most of us carry a small communication device that not only means we can talk to anyone anywhere in the world, but also listen to music on the go, watch TV and take photos. Flat screens able to connect to the internet and centralized music systems all controlled via wireless touch screens all are part of our normal day routine.

Now technology is making inroads to the kitchen allowing it to connect it with the rest of the home. Appliances that save energy or give you feedback on the status and make the whole kitchen experience a lot more pleasurable

Control for everyone...

Future Lifestyle has teamed up with the developers of a stunning apartment complex to provide the audio and visual solutions for their new home owners...

This project consists of 140 luxury apartments over 9 blocks in beautifully landscaped sub-tropical gardens in the heart of the Nueva Andalucia better known as the "Golf Valley" just behind world famous Puerto Banus (Marbella).

Future Lifestyle have provided 3 video and 2 multi-room audio options as well as additional extras such as audio and video memory storage options with stand-a-lone audio solutions, a Control4 iPod dock, lighting control and apple licenses for smart devices for buyers to choose from. The developers wanted to ensure they were offering the best in class in kitchens, furniture, spa baths etc so we were teamed up with other local companies specialising in their field to produce turn-key packs that the end user could choose from.

Demo Suite

In the showflat we have installed a sample of one of our ´packs´, showing HD video and audio for demonstration purposes. A Samsung flatscreen TV with Harman Revel speakers and subwoofer sit in the lounge with Nuvo In-ceiling speakers providing audio in a second zone (main bedroom).

The whole house can be controlled via the easy to use on-screen interface in the lounge. You can choose movies stored on the media server using the cover art or search through the albums by artist or even genre.

Wondering into the bedroom you can use a remote that provides 2 way communication of what song or artist is playing. It is even possible to pick up or iPhone or iPad* and control the home.

The lights have been added to the system in the entrance, hallway, kitchen, dining area and lounge. To show that it is possible to integrate almost every system within these apartments.

*there is also an Android version of the app

A lesson in listening and hearing music

 This summer has seen Future Lifestyle become the installer for Meridian range of speakers and audio products for southern Spain.

 Meridian has developed a number of unique technologies since they started in the late seventies, all in the pursuit of audio perfection.

 Members of the Future Lifestyle team were lucky enough to be invited to the Meridian HQ in Cambridgeshire, England where we learnt what makes Meridian audio equipment stand out from the crowd. We also got to witness the care and attention to detail that goes into the construction of their products which are made right there on the premises.

Sooloos their own audio storage and interface system is a breeze to use, both via the Control15 touch screen interface or the free iPad app. Streaming lossless audio to anywhere in the house over a single Cat5 cable.

To round off our visit we were treated to a cinematic experience in their reference home cinema. The clarity and depth of the cinema is hard to explain. The snowboarding file “The Art of Flight” dragged you so far into the action it had checking for broken bones afterwards and a spin round the test track with Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear had us thinking that the Jaguar he was driving was about to come smashing through the wall at any moment.

Now Meridian Audio is not to everyone’s taste or within their budget. But if you are serious about your music then they are most definitely worth a look.

Return of the Blog!!!...

Hello again... yes it´s been a while since we have updated our blog, but things have been all go at the Future Lifestyle offices...

We have completed installations of some of the most tech pack houses on the Costa del Sol (images and case studies to follow), signed agreements with distributors to become the installers of some of the best audiophile speakers in the world (check who here!) and worked on providing solutions for a whole apartment complex for a forward thinking developer.

There is still more to come!!... over the coming weeks we will be tweaking the website and updating portfolio with some of our latest installations...
